![]() ![]() But go back earlier and you’re going to be stuck in some seriously low rez/non scaling interfaces. I think 5 is the only one on a reasonably modern engine but 4 might also be as well. Either 2 to 3 or 3 to 4 felt superfluous from a story perspective. New classes in effect (since each class is essentially a “this skill group has such and such cost modifier”), that did spice things up. ![]() 3 and 4, as I recall, blurred together some although there’s some mechanics added around this point in the series. But I recall it being very well received and it inarguably advanced the overall story. Geneforge 2 is the game of PARRY IS THE BEST SKILL EVER. I don’t recall exact specifics here, but consensus - one Vogel basically nodded at - was somewhere in the middle the series went down in quality but it finished strong (5 was very good). I’ve still got 2 to 5 in my backlog… is any one of them much better than the others? Hope that’s changed up a bit in the remake. Really enjoyed the game, but I agree it got very repetitive near the end.
